About

I started dabbling in web design when I was about 10. I used aol hometown to make my first very lame site. All of the AOL Hometown stuff was very basic. I however started to learn about different file types and graphics. I began experimenting with html and got a Xanga where I played around with layout templates for it and started to make graphics. Later on I decided to try out Geocities and made another lame site. At this time, I had been lurking a message board of a band I liked and made signatures for people there. I was pretty awful at it but began to learn more techniques. Soon after I started a fan site site hosted by fanwired.com. The owner of fanwired, Eric, eventually disappeared and after awhile deleted my site without notice. It had been dead due to complications with my hosting that was never fixed. However, I learned a lot testing things on my first real host. During the time the fan site was dead I had created drop-a-heart.com and improved my graphic and web design skills. In the midst of all this I have created several other sites, and helped some friends out with their sites. Finally this site came along and has gone through so many complications with free hosts so I finally just bought my own. I’m now hosted at serverplace.net, an amazing host with great prices. Everything I know about web design was self taught, which is why I’m not that great for the most part. I’m heading off to college to major in graphic and web design. It’ the only career I see myself doing.

Name

“This is the way they’d love if they knew how misery loved me.” That is a line from Fall Out Boy’s song “Dance, Dance”. Back when the album first came out and people still had no clue who Fall Out Boy was, that line caught my attention. So I turned past tense to present tense and got “Misery Loves Me”. I was considering changing the name of this site when Good Charlotte came out with a new song called “Misery”. There just happened to be a line that said “misery loves me”. So I kept it. The domain name now covers two bands that changed my life.
